1. Who we are

FlipFiction is a free Android application for reading short romantic fiction, published by Flingo. Our contact email is info.flingo@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

When you use FlipFiction, we may collect the following types of information:

• Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. If you sign in with email, we receive only your email address.
• Reading activity. Stories you open, save, like, or finish — used to recommend new stories and improve the catalogue.
• Device information. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, and a randomly generated installation identifier — used for diagnostics and crash reporting.
• Diagnostics & crash reports. Anonymous reports from Firebase Crashlytics when the app behaves unexpectedly.
• Advertising identifiers. Google's advertising ID (when permitted by your device settings) for personalised in-app advertising.

We do not collect your contacts, photos, files, location, microphone audio, or SMS messages.

3. How we use information

• To deliver the core reading experience — sign-in, story sync, bookmarks, reading history.
• To personalise story recommendations.
• To show in-app advertising (free tier).
• To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, or technical issues.
• To improve the app — measuring which features are used and where the experience breaks.

4. Third-party services

FlipFiction relies on the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, crash reporting, analytics.
• Google AdMob — in-app advertising.
• Google Play Billing — optional in-app purchases.

5. Children

FlipFiction is rated 3+ on Google Play and is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact info.flingo@gmail.com and we will delete it.

6. Data retention

We retain account and reading-activity data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records).

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Send requests to info.flingo@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS in transit, Firebase security rules at rest) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to sign out of shared devices.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you in-app.
